The historic Kulik Lodge is your home base for exploring the magnificent waters, flora, and fauna (ahem, like bears!) of Katmai National Park & Preserve. Three, four, and seven-night trips available.
Included in our explorer package is round trip air transportation between Anchorage and Kulik Lodge, lodging, meals, boat and guide service on the Kulik River, loaner rods and waders, and complimentary cocktails each evening.
July bear viewing special: Unguided bear viewing/sightseeing trips to our sister operation at Brooks Falls, Brooks Lodge, are free to all Kulik guests during the month of July!
Arrival Day: Depart Anchorage on your direct flight to Kulik Lodge. Upon arrival you have the option of guided sportfishing or sightseeing on the Kulik River. Fishing license and equipment is provided. Return to the lodge for dinner and complimentary cocktails. Hot tub and sauna are available, too.
Full Days: You’ll board an early morning seaplane flight to Brooks Camp accompanied by a cheerful and knowledgeable Kulik Lodge guide, who will take you to view the brown bears at Brooks Falls and other points of interest in the Brooks River area. A buffet lunch at Brooks Lodge offers a relaxing break in your day.
On one of your days at Brooks Camp you may choose to take the Valley of 10,000 Smokes Natural History Tour for an additional $100 per person. During the full-day tour you will have the opportunity to look for a variety of wildlife and walk on the Valley’s ash and pumice moonscape.
At day’s end, you’ll return to Kulik to relax and prepare for another great Kulik meal.
Departure Day: Those who arrived at Kulik on late flights will also depart on late flights and will have additional time to spend fishing or relaxing in the Kulik area. All too soon it is time to say your good-byes and depart for Anchorage.
