OFFERING SCHEDULED AND CHARTER SERVICES
Since Katmai National Park is located within such a remote area of Alaska, all guests visiting Katmai will need to access these areas aboard a float equipped seaplane or aboard our Piper Navajo from Anchorage.
Our air service provides all air transportation to each of our lodges, either from our offices in Anchorage or through our office in King Salmon. For guests arriving in King Salmon en-route to Brooks, Katmai Air will include round trip transfers included between King Salmon airport and Katmai Air King Salmon float plane base.
Katmai Air is dedicated to ensuring that you experience Alaska’s wilderness in a safe and comfortable manner.
Katmai Air has recently added a pair of Pilatus PC-12’s to our fleet. These aircraft are not only rated for unimproved runways, they are also pressured for more comfort and capability. They will also shave off 1/3 the amount of time compared with the previous Navajo’s.
Bristol Bay is a spectacular wilderness setting that can only be truly accessed by bush plane.
SAFETY IS OUR FIRST PRIORITY
Easy access, deluxe facilities and unsurpassed trophy fishing make Mission Lodge, the classic Alaska fly out lodge experience. Sauna, Hot tub, sumptuous dining, a comfortable lounge and recreation area are added features of Mission Lodge. A large deck surrounding the facility is just steps from the dock, float planes and boats. Large bay windows frame views of Lake Aleknagik and the beautiful mountains beyond. This is a rugged immense land of startling beauty – a great place to just step out of everyday pressures and relax. At the end of the day each guest retires to their own private room.
Katmai Air offers flight-seeing tours within Katmai National Park and the surrounding areas to catch a glimpse of the breathtaking natural wonders that the park has to offer. The daily tour from Brooks Camp is a one hour excursion where visitors have the opportunity for an aerial view of the “Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes”, active volcanoes, Katmai Crater Lake and a variety of wildlife. Hikers may also want to take this one hour trip to get an overview of their proposed hiking trail when hiking the Valley or other areas within Katmai.
For those wanting something unique, a flight-seeing charter can be arranged at our office in King Salmon, while at any of our lodges or through our reservations office in Anchorage.
Each of our aircraft, under Part 135 operations, must undergo extensive inspections by the FAA and adhere to strict 100-hour & annual maintenance schedules and repair procedures performed by FAA certified mechanics. The work history and flying experience of each pilot must also meet Part 135 requirements, which includes an FAA approved Drug & Alcohol Testing Program, development of an Air Carrier Training Program, preparation a Flight Operations Manual, development of a Hazmat Program for handling hazardous materials, and to register and show proof of insurance.

Thirty Years of ‘AMAZING’ Fly Fishing Experiences!
WOW! What a magical experience. The staff are superlative. Everyone treated as though we were as important as family.
My favorite place on earth! I have been there many times, and loved every minute of every visit. I just wish I could be there again this year.
Kulik Lodge – Great Experience. This is a destination fishing lodge but there is plenty of wildlife and sites nearby if fishing is not your only interest. The fishing, however, was excellent.
